Lavigne Belts 5 Hits
After a 5-hit effort to lead Sacramento HS's 27-25 victory over the Markesan HS Gaels, left fielder David Lavigne told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the High School League-level is really something special."

The 16-year-old player earned his accolades at Sacramento Park with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Gaels.

"His swing is getting there," said Rivercats skipper , who spoke glowingly of Lavigne after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. David did that to perfection."

David Lavigne hit a two-run double in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 7th.

Currently Lavigne is batting .269 with 6 home runs and 20 RBIs.
