New Jersey Takes Wildcard Series in Deciding Game Monday, October 26th , 2054 American Federation Baseball League pundits who figured the Wildcard Series between the New Jersey Athletics and Georgia Titans would go the distance were right on the mark. The two teams battled back and forth in a spirited series, with New Jersey coming out on top thanks to a 5-3 win in the deciding game at Johnson & Johnson Field, to wrap things up 4-3. "You get to the last game and anything can happen, so we're overjoyed to come out on top," said Athletics first baseman Luis Antonio Pérez, who was named series MVP. For the series, Pérez had 10 hits for a .345 average. He had 4 home runs, 9 RBI and scored 5 runs.
