Spurs Prevail, as League Championship Series Goes to the Wire Saturday, November 7th , 2054 Texas Spurs won a nail-biting series against the California Bulldogs 4-3, wrapping up the League Championship Series finale 5-4 at Bulldog Stadium. Spurs first baseman Chris Newell was named the series MVP. He batted .360, drove in 12 runs and scored 5 to lead Texas into the next round of play. "Chris was real solid for us, real solid," said Spurs manager Matt Yordy. "I normally say I'd like to have nine of him out there, but thankfully we got by with just one this time."
