Hall of Fame Honors Bob Holmes
Monday, November 30th , 2054
The American Federation Baseball League Hall of Fame just added a fine catcher and hitter to its number. The newest member of baseball's most elite group is Bob Holmes, who retired at the age of 35.

"I always knew I was good enough to play, but the Hall of Fame was one of the few things I never even dreamed of," said Holmes at his induction ceremony. "For me to focus a lot on the individual, that's not the way I learned to play the game. Baseball is a team game. You win as a team, you lose as team. You also do so many things together, but it is not an 'I' thing."

During his illustrious career, Holmes had 382 home runs among his 2179 hits, while batting .298. He played in 1897 games, scored 1055 runs and knocked in 1133 runs.
