Season Possibly Over for Philippe Bourbon Sunday, September 13th , 2065 The New Jersey Athletics were dealt a severe blow when Philippe Bourbon was hurt throwing a pitch recently in a game against the Maryland Bridegrooms. After the game, the team trainer reported Bourbon might have to spend a lengthy time on the injured list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 27-year-old reliever out for the rest of the season with a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. They indicated it would take Bourbon at least 7 months to heal. This season Bourbon has nailed down 5 saves with 48 strikeouts in 44 innings. He is credited with 3 wins and 5 losses and has a 2.86 earned run average. |
