Joe Cortez discovered that today at Multnomah Stadium, as he smashed three home runs during the 7-2 Arizona Vipers win over the Oregon Explorers. "I got three balls to hit and nailed all three of them," the Arizona right fielder said in his postgame interview. "The first was a hanging curve, the second was right down the middle and the last one was a good pitch, but I guessed right and put the wood to it." Cortez finished the day with 3 hits in 5 at-bats and 5 RBIs.
