"Masahide was very aggressive tonight," Ohio manager said. "He threw everything he had with a lot of confidence." Through 9 innings, Hirata tallied 7 strikeouts and allowed no walks. "He was throwing strikes with all his pitches and mixing it up well," losing manager Liam Maroney said.
