Empire End Wittman's Streak Tuesday, June 21st , 2067 It was a doubly miserable day today for R.J. Wittman of the Colorado Bears, as he saw his 23-game hitting streak end and his team lose 5-1 to the New York Empire at The Empire. The 18-year-old first baseman was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the Empire. "Anyone on a 23-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," New York manager Richard Hager said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done." Wittman on the season is hitting .340 with 7 home runs. His stats include 15 RBIs and 13 runs scored. |
