20-Game Hitting Streak for Byrd Saturday, June 25th , 2067 Win or lose, Dan Byrd just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 1 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 20 games. The Illinois Warhawks catcher went 1-for-4 today, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated 7-0 by the Minnesota Mallards at Dylan Park at Hennepin. "It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." Dan Byrd grounded out in the 1st, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th. Currently Byrd is batting .277 with 3 home runs and 15 RBIs. |
