Empire Prevail, as Wildcard Series Goes to the Wire Monday, October 29th , 2068 Depending on your loyalties, the Wildcard Series was either thrilling or heartbreaking. The series went down to its final game, with the New York Empire and the Alabama Yellowhammers giving their fans plenty of drama. In the end, the Empire came out on top, winning 5-1 at Madison County Grounds today to take the series 4-3. "We're lucky to be going into the League Championship Series," said New York pitcher Yuri Vijn. "If all the series are like this, it'll definitely be an entertaining postseason." Vijn earned series MVP honors, hitting for a .296 average, with 3 home runs, 6 RBI and 4 runs scored.
