New Jersey Sweeps into the Federation Cup Series Sunday, October 20th , 2041 The New Jersey Athletics appear poised to make a serious run at the Federation Cup Series after a convincing sweep over the North Carolina Aviators in the League Championship Series. It's now on to the Federation Cup Series for New Jersey, who won the final game 9-4 and took the series 4-0. "Everyone's doing their part and things are falling into place," said New Jersey catcher Bob Holmes, who was named series MVP. "It feels like a special year." For the series, Holmes hit .563 with a .632 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 5 runs.
