Young Silences New York
Friday, June 23rd , 2045
"Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.
Well, good pitching also beats bad hitting.
Bobby Young of the New Jersey Athletics proved the point at Johnson & Johnson Field today, holding the New York Twin Towers to 2 hits in a complete game shutout victory.
"Young made us look real bad today," Twin Towers manager New York GM CPU said in his postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."
Young had 8 strikeouts and gave up 1 walk as the Athletics took the 9-0 win.
On his stats sheet for the year Young shows a 5-6 record, 16 starts, 112.1 innings, 88 strikeouts and a 3.12 ERA.
