Hines 5-for-5 for Diamond Club Thursday, June 29th , 2045 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Dave Hines, it came around today. The 28-year-old right fielder scattered hits all over Ebbetts Field South at Virginia Beach Diamond Club to pace the Virginia Diamond Club to a 11-5 victory over the New Jersey Athletics. New Jersey skipper told reporters in the press room that "Hines deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Hines hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Dave Hines hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Tynan Adams in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th and singled in the 8th.
