No Hits for Haynes, Streak Ends at 24 Tuesday, July 25th , 2045 Pennsylvania second baseman Mike Haynes experienced something against the Ontario Blue Pirates he hadn't experienced a while: a hitless game. The Blue Pirates pitching corps quieted his hot bat and snapped his streak at 24 games, but his teammates picked up the slack to lead the Railroaders to a 6-4 victory at Farmers Market Stadium. "Hey, ain't nothin' bad about a losing a 24-game hitting streak," Haynes joked with reporters after the game. "Now you guys will have to find someone else to bother for stories." This year Haynes has hit 18 home runs and posted a .309 batting average. |
