Saucedo Keeps Hit Streak Alive Thursday, July 16th , 2048 The Washington Resonance may have proven to be mere mortals today as they lost 6-5 to the Texas Isotopes, but António Saucedo continued to hit like a god. The third baseman collected 1 hit in 4 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 20 games. "Saucedo is playing great and is on fire right now," Resonance manager John Gagan said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Saucedo was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." António Saucedo flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Frédérick Martineau in the 4th, flied out in the 5th and flied out in the 8th. This year Saucedo has hit at a .308 pace and produced 53 RBIs, 14 home runs and scored 56 runs. |
