Rowdy Players Suspended by League Thursday, May 26th , 2050 Yesterday at Madison County Grounds Wang-gi Yi and Stan Butler got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Alabama Yellowhammers and New York Twin Towers. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Yi will have to sit out 3 while Butler would be given a 7-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. This year Yi has hit 2 home runs and posted a .164 batting average. This year Butler has posted a 2-4 mark in 10 starts and has a 6.70 ERA. |
