Streak Finally Over, Silva Held Hitless
Wednesday, June 22nd , 2050
Tony Silva saw his 20-game hitting streak wither and die today during the California Bulldogs win over Alabama at Madison County Grounds. The 26-year-old left fielder was held hitless in 3 at-bats by the Alabama Yellowhammers, but his teammates produced enough offense to take the game, 5-2.

"Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit," a seemingly upbeat Silva told reporters in the clubhouse. "But really, how could you be unhappy after you hit in 20 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. Life is good."

This season Silva has hit at a .310 clip and produced 26 RBI, 5 home runs and 41 runs.
