Maryland Starter Named PL's Premier Pitcher Friday, July 1st , 2050 In June when the Maryland manager wrote the name "Locke" on the lineup card, he knew he had a good shot at winning. Start after start in the month, Jeff Locke took the hill, took charge and usually got the win. He dominated with a 4-1 mark and 2.36 ERA in 5 starts. The gifted Bridegrooms star pitched 34.1 innings, fanned 44 and held opposing teams to a .242 average. For his outstanding mound performance Locke was named the PL Pitcher of the Month by the baseball writers. To date this season, Locke has a record of 10 wins and 3 losses and a 2.20 ERA.
