Hit Parade: Matos Pops 5 Hits Wednesday, July 15th , 2048 It was a good day for the Bruins at New Boston Park as they clipped the Salem Cherries, 10-4. It was tremendous day for Jesús Matos, who was on a hitting barrage at the plate, finishing 5-for-5. "I don't know what to call that," the New Boston center fielder told reporters after his big performance. "I'm not 'dialed in' or 'in a zone,' I just try to keep it simple. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then I hit it. Today I picked up the spin pretty well." Jesús Matos singled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Tomás Gutiérrez in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, tripled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This year Matos is hitting .301 with 10 home runs and 32 RBIs in 57 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .429 with 41 walks and 34 runs scored. View Boxscore |
