Red-Hot Pérez Scorches Bruins Wednesday, August 5th , 2048 No matter what the New Boston Bruins threw at him today, José Pérez hit it. He easily handled Bruins pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Venom to a 12-4 triumph at New Boston Park. "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview. Told of Pérez's quip, Bruins skipper said he "would take him up on that next time." José Pérez singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Pat Pritchard in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Mike Stretton in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
