CLE's Top Pitcher in July Is Murillo Saturday, August 1st , 2065 There's something about a young rookie winning the East Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Juan Murillo, a 24-year-old starter for the Hartford Yard Goats. In July, he topped off the month with a 5-0 mark and 1.94 ERA in 6 starts, tossed 41.2 innings, fanned 33 and held opposing teams to a .252 average. Presently Murillo has a 14-4 mark in 26 starts with a 4.04 ERA. He has given up 161 hits in 158.1 innings, struck out 123 and issued 52 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .271 batting average against him. |
