Ottawa Skunks Hoboken, 6-0 Sunday, August 30th , 2065 The Hoboken Falcons manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Ottawa Lynx. The Falcons were overpowered by Ottawa starter Troy Gerstner, who hurled his club to victory, 6-0. "It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," said. Over 9 innings, Gerstner blanked Hoboken on 3 hits with no walks and 8 strikeouts. "I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Gerstner said. "I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one." So far this season Gerstner has a record of 10-1 with 104 strikeouts and 25 walks in 101.2 innings and a 2.48 ERA. View Boxscore |
