5-for-5 Day for Landeros Sunday, August 11th , 2069 Getting 5 hits in a game doesn't happen every day, so it was a special occasion for Bat Hogs's Diego Landeros at Cadiz Grounds. Landeros put up a 5-for-5 line against the St. Cloud Water Wolves, swinging the bat with authority all day despite his club's eventual 14-11 loss. "I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Landeros said after the game. "I had some real good at-bats. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em. I had a great day, but it's disappointing to lose." Disappointed or not, he still gets his name in the record books. Diego Landeros hit a two-run home run off Travis Thorsen in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Travis Thorsen in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Angelo Silva in the 8th. During the current season Landeros is batting at a .355 clip with 18 home runs and 64 RBIs. He has played in 64 games and scored 46 times. View Boxscore |
