Zamora Blasts 3 out of the Park Sunday, April 7th , 2069 O'Hara Township College All-Stars third baseman Ivan Zamora put on a dazzling display of power at All-Stars Ballpark against the Corpus Christi College Weasels. In the 11-6 All-Stars victory, Zamora penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Corpus Christi College manager said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 19-year-old had 3 hits in 3 at-bats, 7 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Zamora said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Ivan Zamora hit a solo-shot off Justin Strode in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Justin Strode in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Bill Overly in the 5th, hit a sac fly in the 6th and walked in a run in the 7th. For the season, Zamora is hitting .321, batted in 41 runs with 13 home runs and 41 runs scored. |
