Cobian Slams 3 Deep for Long Beach HS Friday, April 13th , 2068 Luis Cobian went yard three times in a Long Beach HS Terriers victory over the Buffalo HS Bisons at Bisons Ballpark today. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the Long Beach HS center fielder went 5-for-6 against Buffalo HS with 6 RBIs and 5 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Terriers to the 17-4 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." Luis Cobian hit a three-run home run off Ken Tuller in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Ken Tuller in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 9th and doubled in the 9th. Thus far this season Cobian is hitting .306 with 7 home runs, 21 RBIs and 19 runs scored. He has 26 hits in 85 at-bats and has played in 23 games. |
