Gillett Jacks 3 into the Stands Friday, April 19th , 2069 Fans seated in the bleacher section at Ballpark of Calgary HS were taking cover all day long as Kevin Gillett zeroed in on them, rattling three long blasts off the seats in a display of Herculean power. The big game from the Long Beach HS shortstop helped the Terriers take the victory, 9-0, over the Calgary HS Flames. "I told myself not to press on the last one," he told reporters in the postgame press conference. "I knew I couldn't force it -- it has to be a nice easy swing." For the game, he collected 4 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 6 and scored 3 runs. Kevin Gillett hit a solo-shot off Jean-Louis Vidal in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Tom Parisot in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Joe Julian in the 9th. Gillett is hitting .339 this year with 5 home runs, 14 RBIs and 13 runs scored. He has 19 hits in 56 at-bats, 10 walks and a .439 on-base percentage. Gillett has played in 14 games. |
