League Punishes Pair for Fighting Saturday, August 8th , 2065 François Hemery of the Sarasota Wolves and Ronald Verdonschot of the Delray Beach Grasshoppers will be on the sidelines for a few days. They have been suspended for 3 and 6 games respectively by the league office for causing the bench-emptying free-for-all at the recent Wolves-Grasshoppers game at Sarasota Stadium. Neither player had any comment about the suspensions. Both clubs told BNN Hemery and Verdonschot will begin serving them soon. For the season Hemery is currently batting .317 with 2 home runs and 29 RBIs. In 94 games he has reached base at a .429 rate and scored 26 runs to date. This year Verdonschot has collected no saves in 43 relief appearances. He has also compiled a 2-1 won-lost mark with a 9.38 ERA and fanned 63 batters in 55.2 innings. Opponents are hitting him at a .364 clip in 2065. |
