Quintero, Gore Receive 3-Game Suspensions
Friday, August 28th , 2065
At a recent Swamp Things-Rockies contest at The Swamp, Santos Quintero of Sanford took exception to what John Gore of Jacksonville said to him and tackled him. This led to an old-fashioned bench-clearing free-for-all between the two clubs. After the umpires restored order, they ejected both players.

Today the league commissioner's office took action and suspended each player for 3 games, citing them for "inappropriate and aggressive conduct."

A look at his current stats shows Quintero with a .284 average, 16 home runs, 67 RBIs and 69 runs scored. He has played in 123 games.

Gore has taken the mound for 38 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 6-2 record with a 5.92 ERA. The Jacksonville reliever has limited opposing batters to a .292 batting average.
