Urias Hits 3 Homers Against Redington Beach
Friday, September 13th , 2069
Punta Gorda Bulldogs third baseman Mike Urias put on a dazzling display of power at Bulldog Grounds against the Redington Beach Panic. In the 22-3 Bulldogs victory, Urias penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts.
"He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Redington Beach manager said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well."
Along with his three home runs, the 23-year-old had 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 10 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Urias said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today."
Mike Urias struck out in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, was hit by a pitch in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Ebert van der Hoeven in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Akiyo Takahashi in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Damon Welford in the 8th.
This year, Urias has hit 22 home runs and posted a .240 batting average.
