Grullon Launches 3 HR for Bulldogs Tuesday, May 27th , 2070 Punta Gorda Bulldogs shortstop Danny Grullon put on a dazzling display of power at Grasshoppers Ballpark against the Delray Beach Grasshoppers. In the 9-3 Bulldogs victory, Grullon penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Delray Beach manager said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 17-year-old had 3 hits in 3 at-bats, 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Grullon said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Danny Grullon hit a solo-shot off Miguel Serrano in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Miguel Serrano in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 6th and walked in the 8th. |
