Mike Gilmore put on a hitting clinic as the Atlanta Peaches dumped the Colorado Springs Avalanche, 16-9, at Field of Peaches.

The Atlanta center fielder made Colorado Springs defenders earn their pay, lashing Colorado Springs pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."

"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Gilmore said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
