Catalano Twirls 5-0 Shutout Saturday, July 11th , 2065 It wasn't easy but the Pittsburgh Crawfords made it look that way. Starter Marty Catalano shut out the Birmingham Vulcans despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Pittsburgh Crawfords cruised to victory, 5-0. Catalano allowed only 2 hits and rang up 2 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up." This season Catalano has compiled a 6-5 record with a 6.12 ERA in 17 starts. View Boxscore |
