Boland Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Tuesday, July 14th , 2065 There are moments in a player's career that they will not soon forget. Finley Boland of the Raleigh Explorers had one such moment at Raleigh Field today, when he went 5 for 5 at the plate. His hitting heroics weren't enough to pull out the victory, however, and Raleigh fell to a 9-8 defeat to the Pittsburgh Crawfords. "This was quite a day for me individually, but a little disheartening at the same time," the 28-year-old first baseman told reporters in the postgame interview. "It would have been very special if we had won the game." Finley Boland doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
