League Championship Series Goes the Distance, Brooklyn Prevails Thursday, October 1st , 2065 The fans in Brooklyn are delirious, while there is little joy to be found in Wilmington. The Brooklyn Dodgers finished off the Wilmington Eagles 7-4 in the deciding game of the League Championship Series played at Brooklyn Park. They took the series 4-3 and will now head to the Explorer Cup. For his standout play, Brooklyn third baseman Joe Thompson was voted the series' Most Valuable Player. He batted .517, drove in 5 runs and scored 6 to lead his club to victory. "We could never really figure out how to pitch to Thompson and that doomed us," said Eagles manager . "Hats off to Brooklyn, though. That was a great series." The Brooklyn Dodgers will play against the Eugene Ducks in the next round.
