Globe and Mail: May 1st 2050

The first month of the AFBL is done and the Blue Pirates (16-10) are in a familiar Position 1st place, with the team finishing 2nd in 2046 & winning the Division last 3 years this is good start.

The road back to the Finals will not be so easy, old Foe New Jersey is only 1 game back so far, they might not be fully on the charge yet but they will not make it easy. The Railroaders have been out of the playoffs for 10 years! they look much tougher then last season. New York was so close to overtaking me last season just had a horrible September mixed with the awesome last 2 months for Ontario, on paper when healthy they are going to be scary. Maryland is new to this division and probably won’t be making a big run but they have some great pitching that can slow you down and could surprise a few people.

The month for Ontario players was a pretty good one.

Marc Maldonado continued hit the cover off the ball & won the PL Batter of the Month hitting .390 with 7 home runs, 22 RBIs and 22 runs scored.

Cristo Mota who is looking to build on an impressive 2049 campaign started the 2050 season off with a 4-0 rec over 6 starts with a 1.21 ERA 45K and a 0.67 WHIP! Which earned him the PL Pitcher of the Month.

The rest of the team has come along pretty well, last Sim tho saw a break out for Micah Jackson who had 6 hits & 6 Runs scored in 4 games, Ty Hinkle broke out of his early season slump with 9 hits in 5 games to pace this offense. While on the pitching side Freddy Santiago pitched his 2nd good start in a row & Edwin Mercer gave the arms some rest with 5+ innings out of the pen.

The start of the month of May has the Blue Pirates at home Vs New York, Kentucky, & New Mexico with it being early and a few of these teams starting off slowly Ontario looks to improve its 12-2 home record.

Keep your eyes and ears open for more on the AFBL and your Ontario Blue Pirates.
