Globe and Mail: June 5th 2050

We have now finished two months of the season and the Blue Pirates are (36-20) in first 6 games up on the Twin Towers.

We talked about how this year isn’t going to be easy and after the month of May New York put up, going 18-8 just better then Ontario’s 18-9 has put them in a great spot leading the Wild card by 1. New Jersey has stayed around with the PL’s leading HR hitter. Pennsylvania has one of the best Pitchers in the PL so they are still around as well. Maryland has faded and won’t really factor on the Division race but they can & will still steal some games.

This month for Ontario players was pretty good again.

Duri Al Gahary was superb during the month of may he hit .325 with a .442 OBP 8 HR and 28 RBI.

Cristo Mota was once again amazing during the month of May, good enough to be awarded the PL Pitcher of the Month award. He earned it with 4-2 Rec in 6 starts with 45 K and 0.78 WHIP.

During the last sim the Offense was electric, 36 year old Luis Gonzalez played 4 games but had 9 hits scored 6 times with 2 HR & 9 RBI. Mike Daniels continued his hot hitting playing in 6 games recording 10 hits 4 2B & 4 RBI. Marc Maldonado dealt with a few injurys in May, despite playing in 6 games he only got 12 AB last sim but he made the most with them, 7 Hits 3 2B & 9 RBI!

On the less good side New SP Jorge Ramirez hasn’t pitched the best for the Blue Pirates, tho he has pitched 7+ innings 3 times in 6 starts he has also given up over 3+ runs 5 times in those 6 starts.

The Blue Pirates go on a long road trip after facing Alabama, this will be a good test for the the team as they have a 12-11 rec on the road so far this season.

Keep your eyes and ears open for more on the AFBL and your Ontario Blue Pirates.
